Infrastructure Architect, VMWARE, NETAPP, Microsoft

Infrastructure/Technical Architect required with e extensive practical experience in the design, implementation and operation of large scale technology solutions in a complex multi-supplier environment. The Architect requires experience in Compute Virtualisation Technologies - VMWARE and Storage technologies (eg NetApp SAN.) and solid experience of Microsoft Infrastructure platform.

Essential Skills.

Compute Virtualisation Technologies (eg VMWare)

Storage technologies (eg NetApp SAN)

MS Exchange 2003, 2007, 2010

Ability to present to staff and familiarize them with both existing and new standards and procedures

Access Management (specifically, MS AD, GPO)

Active Directory Federation and directory consolidation

Developing role based authentication and reverse engineering existing authentication structures.

Microsoft Applications infrastructure including but not limited to MS SQL Biztalk, SCCM, MS Dynamics

Service Management Systems (CMdB, Incident Management, Change Management)

Enterprise Management Systems (Event Monitoring & Management Technologies , Backup, AV, etc.)

Middleware Technologies (Web, Security, Messaging (machine), Integration)

Experience in designing non functional components of the any requested solution (resilience performance security etc)

Current & known future technology strategies for delivery of Infrastructure Services

Desirable Skills

TOGAF 8 or above qualification

PRINCE2 Foundation or Practitioner qualification

Microsoft Infrastructure platform/MCA in the following

o MCA: Solutions

o MCA: Microsoft Exchange Server

o MCA: Microsoft Office SharePoint Server

o MCA: Microsoft Office Communications Server

o MCA: Microsoft SQL Server

o MCA: Windows Server: Directory

Track record in Technical project and/or programme management

Experience of working with incumbent suppliers to make enhancements &/or developments to existing systems

Knowledge Management

Change Management & Business Process Engineering

Awareness of the non-functional environment for clinical systems (physical working locations, 24/7 operations, information governance, legal requirements, etc.)
