Management Accountant - 9 Week Contract - London (Chancery Lane)

Volt is currently recruiting on behalf of a market leading publishing company based in London for a Management Accountant to start immediately. Reporting directly to the Business Analysis Manager, the Management Accountant will be responsible for the monthly reporting, budgeting, forecasting & financial analysis. The role includes full P&L reporting on several practice areas and correct allocation of costs.
Key Responsibilities:
*Posting the required journals in order to effect the correct revenue, cost of sales, employee's positions and/or the re-allocation of costs/invoices as required.
* Production of monthly headcount report for Practitioner Solutions.
*Comparison of the revenue and costs to forecast/budget/last year with variance analysis & commentary for review by the Head of Management Accounts, Financial Planning & Analysis.
*Attendance at monthly/ad hoc practice area meetings (where relevant) to provide overview on the financials & financial support as required.
* Preparation of post month end reconciliation/validation of UK Core HFM submission to Hyperion Planning.
Monthly Reporting (Forecasting/Budget):
*Review & challenge of assumptions and support to the business managers to understand their financials, implication of investments etc.
*Preparation of the quarterly financial re-forecasts, including variance review vs. Budget and year to date performance.
*Management of the headcount process during the RF/Budget processes.
*Prepare reconciliation/validation of UK Core HFM submission to Hyperion Planning.
Qualifications/Requirements:
*CIMA or ACCA Intermediate.
*Strong analytical & Excel skills.
*Strong communicator & influencer.
*Ability to explain financial concepts to non financial managers (eg. accruals and prepayments)
*Strong commercial aptitude.
*PeopleSoft and/or Hyperion Planning & Essbase experience desirable; failing that experience of working with different systems expected
*Knowledge/experience of the Publishing business preferable.
