We are currently looking for a well rounded System Engineer with a strong working background within Cisco and Linux to join an exciting contract role in Brisbane.

This job will involve the following activities:
Routinely audit and analyze the existing network environment to keep it up-to-date with low latency and high-end operating requirement Perform data analysis and relief sizing and timing for Layer 2/Layer 3 growth - Serve as technical lead on new and on-going projects, collaborating with development, project management and other business units to deliver timely solutions that meet business requirements. Gather and understand technical requirements for new systems designs. Research, document and propose server and application configurations; establish standard solutions for re-use. Work with Infrastructure Operations to implement, deploy and hand-over on-going management of designed solution. Document the existing network infrastructure and procedures as well as upcoming design changes. Communicate and implements the projected network and system changes, ensuring the stability of the network and compliance with industry best practices.

Requirements:
Degree in Computer Science and appropriate certifications.Minimum of 7 years engineering experience and/or 3rd level support CCNP or higher Cisco certification Advanced understanding of IP/Ethernet/WAN based Networks Advanced knowledge of best practices pertaining to Service Provider/Enterprise LAN/WAN designs networking background. Broad Knowledge of Cisco hardware and Cisco command line Cisco network devices including different models of Switches, Routers, Firewalls, VPN, Wi-Fi, ACS and VoIP solutions. Routing protocols including BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, RIP Voice control protocols including H.323 and SIP Operational experience supporting enterprise class systems Hands-on experience working with network attached storage (eg NetApp) Solid understanding of TCP/IP network concepts, protocols, and applications Demonstrated ability to design and deploy highly available server solutions into existing operations Experience working in a structured change control environment
