Our client is looking for a SIT tester. This position provides functional testing in the development environment before code is turned over to QA for more in-depth testing. SIT testers are expected to work closely with developers in generating test cases and helping to improve the quality of the code delivered to QA.
SIT testers also may test emergency fixes before they are applied to the Production environment.
The job responsibilities are:
- Create detailed test plans, test cases, and conditions, and execute the tests
- Provide traceability from business requirements and technical specifications to test conditions and problem reports
- Analyze and test user and system interface functionality
- Participate in detailed design review walkthrough sessions
- Track issues to successful resolution
- Collect metrics to measure test progress and quality outcomes
Required skills:
- Browsers - IE (must have). Firefox, Safari, Opera, Chrome (basic knowledge)
- OS - Windows, UNIX (good)
- Tools - TOAD, PuTTY, ClearQuest, Quality Center, MS Office (Word, Excel), XMLSpy, ClearCase
- Technologies - UNIX commands including text editing, XML (basic understanding)
- SQL expertise
- SQA experience in complex technical environments
- Demonstrated experience in Back End interface testing
- Testing methodology certification(s)
- Experience designing and executing QA black, white, and gray box test conditions
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Tenacity to maintain focus on issues until satisfied they are adequately resolved
- Self-starter
