Our Dallas Client seeks a Solutions Architect located in Billerica, Massachusettes for a 5-month project.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Candidates should have 5+ years as a solution architect in leading, architecting, designing, developing, integrating, and implementing large solutions in alignment with Application Portfolios, Enterprise Architecture, System Architecture and product Roadmap. In addition, the candidate is expected to have broad experience in a variety of IT roles covering solution architecture, system architecture, development and design, data modelling, information security management, requirements analysis, product evaluation, systems implementation, and production operations.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Apply knowledge of industry, product and functional best practices, related technology trends, and vendor future direction to guide customers & stakeholders toward appropriate business solutions
Deliver complex solutions from start to finish including initial assessment and planning activities, process design and prototyping, and implementation and transition activities
Design package-based business service solutions holistically to ensure that components fit together and domains of change within the scope of the solutions are addressed
Be able to connect technology and concepts to financial impacts resulting in Total Cost of Operations estimates and projections, and assist in establishing preliminary project/program development

Generate conceptual/logical architectures, testing analyses, and risk assessments and help socialize IT & SOA governance, processes and procedures for the Raytheon IT systems and ensures proper alignment
Develop short term and long term integration of SOA, EAI, ESB, and BPM architectural approaches.
Serve as a point technical leader for application development teams at the quality program level and provide clear guidance around application and service design, coding, testing, deploying, and supporting techniques
Ensure service implementation consistency, speed of delivery, and promote reuse through creation of reusable SOA assets
Utilize UML, SOA and BPMN modelling tools to create sketch designs in support of business service design documentation.
Provide technology blueprints, roadmaps, and optimization and migration strategies for current and future applications.
Design overall system and solution architecture, system integration, and implementation strategy for initiatives.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field education with 5+ years of experience; with at least 3+ years architecture experience, 3+ years experience in enterprise platform product implementation with broad exposure to different industry leading technologies such as Java, C#, C++, .NET, Web Services/SOA/ESB, XML messaging/Middleware, Oracle SOA Suite, SQL, etc.
- Experience with the Oracle product suite, including products such as WCF, AIA, ADF and UCM is highly desirable. Demonstrable experience implementing SOA/ESB/EAI in large organizations with diverse technology infrastructure and hands on experience with service repositories and registries, application/web Servers, application load balancers, service infrastructures, and business process management systems (BPMS) architectures and platforms.
- Experience with SAP, PeopleSoft & Microsoft products, including IIS, .NET, SharePoint and SQL Server.
- Understanding and experience in applying de facto and industry standard methodologies (TOGAF, ATAM, DODAF, RUP) and fluency with SOAP, WS-*, XML, BPEL, WCF, MQ, etc.
- Experience with integrated development environments (Eclipse, NetBeans, Oracle Jdeveloper, ADF, etc) and working knowledge and experience with BPMN and BPEL.
- Ability to learn new tools and technologies, strong analytical, architectural and problem solving skills for design, creation and testing of IT infrastructure are very desirable.
- Experience in overseeing and designing end-to-end security for all layers (application, data and infrastructure) for complete solution architecture High-level SOA/ITIL/Solution Architect/Enterprise Architect certifications are desirable.

Communicates in formal presentation settings including medium to large sized groups of key decision makers at the executive level; tailors presentations to needs and interests of the audience. Develops articles and white papers covering areas of expertise (Communication).
Functional or exposure to composite application development, portals, web sites, web applications (traditional and Web 2.0).
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
5 or more years of application development experience in either .NET or Java, C#
2 or more years in a Lead Role of a team of 5 or more members
Expertise in cross-domain, cross-business activities a plus.
Knowledge of industry architecture frameworks such as TOGAF, ATAM, FEAF, DoDAF, ITIL or others a plus
Lead presentation and preparation experience
Deep understanding of development life cycle using multiple frameworks such as Agile and Waterfall
Hands-on experience with design/development/system patterns
Experience with secure web environments, security test processes and patterns
Experience with Project Managers, planning, project, resource management a plus
Experience as a participant with road maps, strategy, and budgets
Functional knowledge of application and systems architectures, reference models, and web infrastructures
Functional or exposure to composite application development, portals, web sites, web applications (traditional and Web 2.0)
Experience in SQL Server, Oracle or other related database technologies
Hands-on experience with various web technologies such as (not limited to): XML, XSLT, CSS, JavaScript, HTML, ASP, JSP, JSF, ASP.NET
Experience with various source control systems such as CVS, Subversion, Clear Case, Visual Source Safe, etc.
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
Exceptional written and oral skills
Experience with the Oracle product suite.
