Our Irving, TX Client is seeking a Senior Network Engineer for a long term project.
Job Description
Must have Cisco experience in switching and routing that is strong. They would like candidates to have Juniper, load balancing (f5 and Citrix) and Firewalls (Cisco, Fortinet and CheckPoint) experience. Must have hands-on experience with routing protocols such as OSPF, EIGRP & BGP. Juniper s Switches, Routers and Firewalls is the key.
Must be experienced in the troubleshooting of complex multi-vendor geographically separated networks.
Technical product experience in network security controls including, Cisco PIX/ASA Firewalls, Fortigate UTM Firewalls, and Intrusion Prevention Detection solutions (IPS), SSL certificates.
Experience in administrating authentication controls (Radius, RSA/SecureID and TACACS+) in the enterprise.
Experience with implementing and maintaining encryption techniques and standards (3DES, PKI, MD5, SSH, SSL), in a client and site-to-site configuration.
Must have operational level knowledge and experience in the deployment and maintenance of enterprise network routing architectures using protocols such as OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, and RIP.
Expert knowledge in implementing and supporting switched networks, including (VTP, STP, HSRP, trunking, VLANs, port security and monitoring) in a multi-vendor environment.
Understanding of logical network design including: DMZs, WANs, and client connectivity solutions.
Requires an in-depth knowledge of TCP/IP and communication protocols in LAN/MAN/WAN environments.
Thorough experience in implementing and administering a network management strategy and applications for an enterprise network.( Solarwinds).
Basic Unix and Windows administration understanding and skills, (VI, file manipulation, regedit, AD).
Must be thoroughly proficient in the following protocols/technologies:
BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, Route manipulation (Redistribution, Summarization, Route filtering and Policy Routing), VPN (client and site-to-site), Ethernet Switching: (CatOS, IOS, JunOS switch configurations, VLANs/Trunking, Spanning Tree, HSRP/VRRP), IOS features: (PAT, NAT, SNMP, NetFlow, QoS), Security server protocols (SCP, SFTP, HTTPS, etc.), Traffic filtering, Access lists, Radius, Tacacs+, IOS VPN, IPSec, Pix/ASA Firewalls, Fortigate Firewalls, IDS, VPN Concentrators, Solarwinds Orion & NCM.
Required Skills/Experience and Education
5-10 years in-depth experience working with Cisco/Juniper Routers, Switches, Firewalls.
Certifications and Security background is preferred. Seeking Heavy Firewall experience.
Advanced proficiency in:
Cisco Routers, Catalyst 6500 and other model Switches, Cisco Pix/ASAs, Fortigate, F5 load balancers, Juniper Switches and Routers, Citrix Netscaler, Cisco Unified communication products.
