Role: Mainframe Tester
Location: Chicago, IL
Responsible for developing and executing formal test plans to ensure the delivery of quality software applications. Involved in test planning, writing test cases/scripts, test case automation and test execution. Review system use cases and functional specifications with the appropriate business analyst. Identify potential problems, omissions and open issues and attend walkthroughs and attend signoff meetings. Testing background and hands on experience with test tools (TSO, File-Aid, capture/playback, Mercury Interactive). ITS software knowledge helpful. Work toward certifications including: CSQE or CSQA preferred, professional test tool certification (Mercury, Rational, Compuware)
Candidate should have solid experience with all aspects of Mainframe application testing. JCL, Cobol, DB2, CICS, IMS, Batch, utilities are prerequisites. MQ experience a plus, as well as testing cross-platform applications with Mainframe Back End and web Front End. Experience with ITS and/or claims a plus. Candidates will be responsible for requirements analysis, test planning, test data development, job execution/verification, status reporting. Candidate will have exposure to external customers and must present him/herself in a professional manner and exhibit good communication skills. Ability to manage workload and interact in a fast paced environment with multiple priorities will be essential.
