SOX Sr. LUW UDB/DB2 Mainframe/Oracle DBA
*The skill set mix should be 60% DB2 Mainframe, 30% DB2 LUW, and 10% Oracle (Oracle is nice to have, not requirement).*
Responsibilities
Perform database administrative procedures using the latest tools and technologies.
Manage small and medium projects using: project management, budgeting and financial tracking controls. Provide project reporting to project sponsors.
Communicate regularly with technical, applications and operational staff to ensure database integrity and security
Work with Lead DBA to design database solutions to address compliance policies (SOX, PCI, HIPAA) for complex physical databases across multiple platforms, technologies and computing environments.
Consult with clients to determine database security management requirements.
Drive compliance against the defined security standards.
Develop and maintain script to extract data or generate reports to meet SOX control requirements.
Perform SOX data reporting and analysis to provide management with timely and accurate information.
Perform research, prepare technical studies and make recommendations on database SOX/HIPAA tools.
Plan and communicate such deployments and upgrades in an environment with formal change control processes and compliance processes (eg, HIPPA, PCI, SOX)
Research, evaluate and recommend solutions for patches or upgrades for SOX tools. Test of new features of 3rd party SOX tools. Work with Vendor support to resolve issues.
First line technical interface with the application development teams on compliance remediation solutions
Work closely with technical and client management to ensure implementation of database security management and support tools for complex business application development requirements and processes in accordance with latest enterprise direction (eg, diverse development platforms, technological environments, software, hardware and tools).
Work with IT staff and clients to address new or revised database SOX/HIPAA requirements.
Troubleshoot production problems related to SOX controls and working effectively with other team members to identify and address problems.
Mentor other DBAs in connection with compliance control objectives.
Provide training and professional development on new SOX technologies and applications to DBAs and application teams.
Perform other normal DBA functions as required.
Technical Knowledge
Expert knowledge of DB2 UDB version 8.x, 9.1 and 9.7
Expert knowledge on DB2 Mainframe
Expert knowledge of Oracle 11g, 10g.
Expert knowledge of database security.
Experience using monitoring tools.
Experience with SAN storage systems
Strong SQL skills. Ability to code packages and procedures for both Oracle and SQL DBMS.
Clear understanding of RDBMS fundamentals.
Experienced in planning and communicating such deployments and upgrades in an environment with formal change control processes and compliance processes (eg, HIPPA, PCI, SOX)
Ability to write clear documentation of operating procedures and specifications for applications to be developed in relation to security components.
Exceptional communication, problem solving, and teamwork skills.
Extremely detail-oriented and able to follow clear methodologies for troubleshooting and development.
Ability to support and work within standard software development life cycle practices.
Basic/Minimum Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, or equivalent experience
10 years of experience with RDBMS is required with the last 6 years in Oracle
8 years experience in information technology and diverse technological environments, data and process analysis and modelling, logical database design, physical database design and implementation.
10 years experience with distributed database concepts and design
8 years experience with performance tuning and trouble-shooting skills
5 years experience with n-tier architecture, cluster and database connectivity issues in a Client Server environment
4 years experience in database security administrator role
Preferred Qualifications
Has implemented database solutions for SOX or HIPAA compliance requirements. Must have analytical ability, excellent communication, strong judgment, problem analysis techniques, in-depth knowledge of database security administration, along with a broad knowledge of diverse data administration methodologies, database technologies, tools, and alternatives. Experience with SQL Server is a plus.
