Title: Quality Assurance Tester
Location: Onsite in Calabasas, CA
Type: Contract
Duration: 6 months
Overview:
Our client, a leading financial institution, seeks a Quality Assurance Tester. The department is responsible for Secured underwriting technology and controls - Production risk management, mortgage fraud prevention. Applications (in house) perform detail; Back End detailed testing. They are essentially looking for candidates who can test through our origination systems (EDGE-SM-FD, et al.) and also perform Front End as well as Back End testing for Fraud Detector initiatives and special projects. Required skills include 5 years SQL and QA working knowledge, testing from a Back End perspective. BOA/CW experience is preferable.
Required Skills:
- Must have at least 5+ years experience in Quality Assurance in the web application arena.
- Must be adept at applying software development life cycle concepts and best practices.
- Must have proven expertise with developing and executing quality assurance test scripts, tests plans and checklists.
- Must be proficient in using Quality Center bug tracking system.
- Must possess experience in building complex automated test scripts with tools like (QTP) Quick Test Pro.
- Proficiency in writing SQL scripts (SQL Server), stored procedures and in testing systems/applications from a Back End perspective is required.
- Mortgage industry business knowledge is a plus.
- The candidate must be able to write their own functions/re-usable actions that will be used across all application suites.
- Previous BAC experience is a big plus.
- Nice to have an understanding of ASP.NET, CSS, HTML, Javascript, JQuery, Web Forms, AJAX, VB/C# Scripting.
Responsibilities:
- Will work closely with the members of the Development Team and Business Groups to review the designs of systems, implement test plans, and test the quality of software products.
- Will work closely with the members of the Development Team and Business Groups on an ongoing basis to resolve production issues as reported by the user group.
- Will work with the members of the Development Team and Business Groups on an ongoing basis to resolve production issues that are identified as part of continuous regression analysis conducted by the Quality Assurance team.
- Will work closely with the Development team to ensure highest levels effectiveness and quality of the components and systems developed.
- Will be responsible for assembling and building software projects and installation packages.
- Will be required to communicate with customers regarding installation issues and software defects.
- Will be required to perform Quality Assurance Testing utilizing Black Box testing practices.
- Will advise and consult on the implementation of systems business requirements.
- Will be required to develop documentation and support the systems development life cycle through implementation.
Typical work day is 8 hours; however, candidates may be required to work overtime when necessary.
