We are recruiting for a College based in London.

Primary Purpose:

To support the effective delivery of the Marketing and Communications strategy, with particular responsibility for maintaining our online presence including corporate website, Intranet and social media, and supporting internal and external communications.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

External Communications
To support the Senior Adviser, Communications in producing and distributing external newsletters.
To work with the Head of Marketing and Communications and Senior Advisor, Communications to maximise opportunities for positive press coverage.
To monitor and execute when necessary media crisis management plan.
Working with academic colleagues, devise and implement internal processes to capture and promote staff and student good news stories online and via social and print broadcast media.
To implement media relations evaluation procedures, working with external suppliers of media monitoring, analysis and planning tools as necessary.
Internal Communications
To work with the Head of Marketing and Communications and Senior Advisor, Communications to develop and implement an internal communications plan.
To support the Senior Adviser, Communications in producing and distributing staff newsletter, Staff News.
To act as overall editor for the internal mininet screens system, formatting and editing content for broadcast, and managing other internal communications channels as necessary.
Intranet
To be responsible for ensuring overall content in the corporate website and Intranet is accurate, up to date, relevant and engaging.
To maintain and continuously improve site functionality and visual appeal in accordance with all necessary legal, accessibility and industry best practice guidelines.
To optimise web pages and content for search engine submission.
Social Media
To oversee and manage our social media presence including Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn, Google plus and emergent platforms.
Design
From time to time, be responsible for the design of exhibition materials, eg event signage and banners, adhering to brand guidelines at all times.

General

To adhere to the Workplace Smoking Policy
To ensure that guests are given appropriate health and safety information on arrival
To comply with legislative requirements as it relates to the job, including the Data Protection Act, Equal Opportunities, Freedom of Information Act, health and safety obligations.
Personality Specificatio
This is a key role requiring an outgoing and flexible approach and the ability to plan and manage tasks with close attention to detail. Some evening and weekend work is required.

Skills:
Highly skilled in digital marketing and social media platforms
Excellent content development skills, including the ability to produce appealing and effective marketing and communications collateral, online and offline
Skills in industry standard web publishing and graphics software including Wordpress, InDesign and Photoshop
Ability to write code in HTML and CSS in order to effectively manage the website
The ability to plan, prioritise and organise work
The ability to work independently and as part of a team
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, particularly in the production of copy for web and print.

Experience:

Experience of working in a marketing and communications role, preferably in HE
Desirable Experience
Experience of working with the media (press) and media suppliers
Experience of managing the production of electronic and print publications

Knowledge:

Good understanding of the HE sector

Desirable knowledge
Educated to degree level, and a relevant professional qualification
