Description

Design a high speed Microcontroller circuit with: serial ADC interfaces; Ethernet interface and large memory buffer to the specified functional and performance requirements.

Program the PIC Microcontroller for design proving and production test routines.

Liaise with the Software Engineer to agree the use of in-built peripheral devices and functions.

Design for low power consumption and low emitted and conducted noise.

Design in Built-in-Test, monitoring and switching functions

Produce a full manufacturing drawing pack

Produce an interface control document for the benefit of the firmware design (defining the available functionality and specifying special to type registers, register and memory maps)

Manage the PEC design and manufacture

Liaise with other team members to establish board size, shape and connector positions

Prove the design through thorough testing

Provide an assurance of quality, robustness and reliability

Design the shore side data interface

Competence, skills and experience:

Essential:

High speed Microcontroller circuit design

Significant experience in designs using PIC

Use of CAD packages for circuit schematic and electro-mechanical documentation

Desirable:

Able to work with a minimum level of management

Good standard of documentation

Attention to detail

Used to working to set timescale and budget

Able to procure components

Able to obtain quotes and oversee PCB assembly

Able to manage and oversee production manufacture

Able to produce test specifications

Able to design and produce production test fixtures

Able to test production units

Able to undertake configuration management and quality assurance
