Description of job purpose:

The Project Engineer is the expediter of the project. That is they carry out the day to day roll-out of a given project in assistance to the Project Manager. The Project Engineer conducts the day to day contact between stakeholders to monitor and drive delivery to milestones and the critical path.

Duties:
Sub-contractor management
Monitoring &Earned Value& and other KPI`s to the project plan
Highlighting shortfall of deliverables to the PM. This could come from Engineering Design, Safety Case/Consulting, Subcontractors
Liaise with the client project management team mostly via PM to report update to project progression
Ensure project changes are properly recorded and the PM is advised of the effects on the project

The key distinction between the PE and the PM is that the PM strategises the project in terms of setting out the milestones, financial/contractual mechanism set up and budgetary allocation to stakeholders. The PE then monitors the progress of the project to the plan set out by the PM. The PM is then the escalation point of contact and main interface with the client. The PE is the ``eyes and ears`` of the project delivery.

Required Qualifications:
Preferably Degree qualified in technical/engineering discipline though not essential. A full UK drivers licence is essential for this position as travelling between offices may be required.

Required Experience:
Demonstrable competence gained in Project Delivery position
Ideally has experience gained within an Engineering Consultant or Contractor
Proven track record of delivering to tight deadlines
Experienced in managing delivery from subcontractors or suppliers

You must have the unrestricted right to live and work within the UK at the time of application. You must also hold (or have the ability to gain) security clearance to `SC` level.
