Description

We are currently looking for a Unix Delivery Team lead to be responsible for providing day to day UNIX support by exercising proven Operating System and infrastructure experience in the enterprise space applying process, procedures, standards, guidelines and best practices. Hands on expertise in multiple UNIX Operating Systems (Solaris, HPUX and Linux) and storage management are required.

Roles and Responsibilities
Supporting BAU (operational support) for various clients
Maintain system availability as per multiple Service Level Agreements (SLA)
Produce monthly reporting activity where needed and explain any abnormal system performance
Assist appropriate teams in all phases of Production implementations
Provide support to the technical escalation from team.
Coordinate service calls and requests with team members where necessary.
Respond to incident tickets and provide updates in a timely manner.
Escalate and update to other stake holder when necessary.
Perform 2nd/3rd level in-depth support for hardware and OS diagnostics
Recommend efficiencies in the UNIX/other organizations.
Responsible for system failure analysis and recovery.
Participates in disaster recovery activities; Investigate use of available software used to analyze problems and procedures to perform fine tuning to maximize production; Analyzes and resolves problems associated with server hardware, OS and some Middleware applications software; Analyze and recommend alternative solutions for system enhancements and problem resolution; Interact directly with internal customers or external service provider to negotiate solutions and implementation specifics; Manage and lead hardware and software migration and upgrade efforts of varying size and complexity;

Requirements
In depth knowledge (L3) for various version of Solaris Operating System and Sun hardware. Knowledge of intermediate level of multiple UNIX Operating Systems (eg - Linux, HPUX and AIX) and storage systems in an enterprise environment; VPN (client environment specific); Good practical experience of VERITAS Volume Manager, Cluster Services and Volume Replicator TSM and VERITAS Netbackup (backup and restore); Remedy, Chorus, Infoman, etc. (client environment dependent); Unix commands and Scripting/automation techniques; Experience with automating tasks using batch, Shell or Perl scripts.: Sun Enterprise Servers of all latest models Sun Blades Solaris 2.6, 8, 9, 10 Red Had Linux 4x and 5x Veritas Volume Manager Veritas Cluster Veritas Netbackup Client Veritas Volume Replicator Good knowledge of networking (TCP/IP, routing, etc.) Computer Science degree or technical diploma with demonstrated experience; Minimum 8 years of experience working in the capacity of system administrator; Experience with the Veritas Volume Manager. Experience with the Veritas Cluster Services. Experience with the Solaris Zones and ZFS. Experience with the Solaris OS Kernel tuning. Experience with the Solaris OS Performance tunning
