The Senior Network and Operations Analyst is responsible for operationally supporting operating systems, applications, network and technology platforms. They focus on optimizing the combined utilization of technological components of the enterprise infrastructure. Network and Operations Analysts operate and support distributed enterprise kiosk network, and the related infrastructure hardware platforms. They focus on monitoring, tracking and evaluating system performance against accepted parameters. They are accountable for systems, network administration and operations.

The purpose of this role is to establish and maintain effective systems operation through:
Installation, Support and performance tuning of Veritas Netbackup 6.0 and 6.5
Installation, Support and performance tuning for Unix systems in particular Linux (RedHat and CentOS) - (used for Servers and JBM/Sixnet devices).
Technical Writing skills and experience with auditors is a major plus.
Knowledge of implementation, maintenance and analysis of Microsoft and 2008. Along with Microsoft SQL 2000 and 2005.
Cisco CCNA (cert not required but level of networking knowledge is) - Cisco IOS knowledge a plus
Organizing, coordinating, and overseeing the activities associated with installation, deployment and upgrade of software and hardware. In particular working with the Dell and internal NCR folks.
Monitoring system performance, and implementing appropriate actions to improve usage and throughput. Tools such as Gomez, Sitescope and Empirex are a plus.
Maintaining operating efficiency and security of technology systems
Demonstrating good understanding of customers technology infrastructure needs.
Knowledge of technologies, methodologies, and architectures used in the movement and management of data

Information Technology Administration and Operations:
Monitor, track and compare system performance against accepted parameters using software-based testing, monitoring and analysis tools.
Measure and analyze software and hardware availability, reliability and performance.
Evaluate general computer operations procedures to ensure efficient performance.
Implement appropriate actions to control, correct, or improve usage and throughput.
Develop capacity plans for new or existing facilities.
Perform system startup, system stop, routine backup, and maintenance on systems.

Technical Problem Solving and Trouble Management:
Implement physical database/files backup, migration, and recovery procedures.
Diagnose technical and operational problems on installed networks or systems.
Analyze performance indicators to prioritize and direct resolution of problems.
Identify appropriate corrective action.

Installation Organizing/Coordination:
Plan and schedule installation of new computer hardware, associated environmental equipment, and teleprocessing equipment.
Coordinate installation and implementation of products and services with internal groups and/or local operating company.
Implement project schedules and timelines.
Coordinate administrative project activities, including scheduling, tracking, reporting, and change management.

Technical Communications and Consulting:
Present verbal and written technical information to technical and non-technical audiences.
Provide technical support to customers and others in the organization.
Act as liaison or point of contact with customers, third parties, and internal organizations on technical issues.
Negotiate between parties to resolve conflicts.
Provide complete and accurate documentation: Installation/Upgrade Plans, Systems/Application Deployment Plans/Schedules, System Performance Analysis, System Troubleshooting Methods & Procedures.

Position Challenges:
The challenges presented to associates in this role include: ensuring uninterrupted availability and day-to-day operation of the installed base of information technology systems (all hardware, software, and network components); balancing a variety of stakeholder needs and expectations; establishing and maintaining ongoing communication within the functional area and across organizational boundaries; negotiating expectations and resolving conflicts; and dealing with organizational influences, ambiguity and continuous change.

Basic Qualifications:
Linux Knowledge/Certifications(RedHat and CentOS) - (used for Servers and JBM/Sixnet devices)
Microsoft SQL Server experience
Cisco CCNA (cert not required but level of networking knowledge is) - Cisco IOS knowledge a plus
strong TCP/IP and general network troubleshooting (port level knowledge and traffic analysis)
strong, general computer & server troubleshooting skills (broad knowledge of different technologies)
Network load balancing, RAID, redundancy/failover concepts
Backup technologies & products (preferred Symantec Netbackup experience)
Antivirus knowledge & products
Virtual Private Networks (VPN) IPSec and SSL
Virtual Servers - vmware (free vmware experience fine); knowledge of other virtual products helpful
Managed Switches (eg. web interfaces, cmd line interfaces, Spanning Tree, Port Trunking (bonding), etc)
Basic knowledge of SAN devices a plus
Performance monitoring, log analysis, and troubleshooting on production Servers
MS Office Pro knowledge - should be proficient in Outlook, Word, Excel. Access knowledge a plus.
Programming background a big plus (eg. VBScript, Scripting, concepts, etc)
Wireless (particularly cell network) knowledge a plus
Server-grade hardware knowledge
OpenVPN knowledge a big plus
Double-Take(tm) software experience a plus
HTTP, HTTPS, HTML, FTP, SFTP, certificates, SSH, Telnet, DFS (dist. file system), Active Directory, group policy, multiple sites, Firewalls, Routers, VPN, DNS, DHCP, SMTP, TFTP, encryption standards, networking and command line tools (Windows and Linux), RDP (remote desktop), domain controllers, LAN/WAN technologies, Proxy (concepts), prototype network component testing.
Multi-tasking abilities for projects and assignments
Self-starter & requires minimal supervision for projects and day-to-day operations
Quick learner on technologies, concepts, processes, and procedures
Ability to work in 24x7, fast paced, production environment and be on-call after regular business hours
(production level troubleshooting and problem resolution)
Able to lead groups & projects. Also work well with teams.
Able to grasp complex concepts and make recommendations based on analysis
Able to work effectively with different departments, groups, and vendors effectively and bring them
together as needed.
Excellent written and verbal skills
Ability to document findings and build knowledge cases.
Able to work well under pressure.
