Modis is currently seeking Sr. MPLS Design Engineer for several on-going contract opportunities with our large Energy client in the Western Chicago Suburbs. There are multiple positions open on a multi-year project, initial contract durations will be for 24 months with an option to extend even longer!
This multi-year project is part of a national initiative to bring our client's infrastructure up to speed with next-generation offerings in high availability routing and network capacity management.
This role will be responsible for designing and implementing an IP/MPLS network that leverages Alcatel Lucent's edge service Routers (7750 SR-7 and 7750 SR-12) as well as ALU 7705 Service Aggregation Routers (7705 SAR Rel 3.0) for Wi-Fi/radio mobile access.
- Candidates for this opportunity MUST have expertise in designing and implementing edge IP/MPLS networks with ALU equipment and advanced WAN protocols (BGP/IS-IS).
- Demonstrated expertise with Virtual Line Lease (VLL) and circuit emulation/cpipe/epipe/apipe, as well as fat-pipe tunneling configurations is required (WLAN, bridged VLAN, bridged tunnels and routed tunnels).
- Large implementation experience, preferable at the enterprise or service-provider level, is a huge plus!
- MPLS-TE, QoS and VPLS is a huge plus!
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Expert design & implementation experience with IPv6/MPLS
- Expertise with ALU 7750 SR and ALU 7705 SAR
- Strengths in fat pipe tunneling (bridged VLAN, bridged tunnels and routed tunnels)
- Proficiency with BGP and IS-IS Protocols
- Strong documentation/design skills.
