Description
Client is looking for a Network Engineer to come in on a 4-6 month contract-hire opportunity in the Lake Forest, IL area.
Client currently has an increasing workload from a support perspective as well as a project pipeline - they have been utilizing consulting services but have realized that a longer term solution is necessary. This individual will jump into a role where they would be split between (75%) project based role & (25%) break/fix role.
This manager NEEDS someone who is a go-getter. S/He needs an individual that will recognize a problem, and take the initiative to come up with a solution on his/her own. The ideal candidate needs to hit the ground running. Ideal candidate will come from consulting background.
Down the road, there are several large initiatives that will involve installing Citrix enterprise wide or an Active Directory migration enterprise-wide.
Key Skills required:
- Bachelor's Degree preferred
- 5+ years MS Windows Server Experience required
- 5+ years MS Active Directory deployment, management, and migration experience (needs to have Design & Best Practices)
- 4+ years Citrix XenApp 4.5 and 5 management experience (MUST HAVE) {ideal experience being on 20-25 Citrix Farms}
- 2+ years Citrix XenDesktop management experience (Bonus)
- 3-5 years of VMWare ESX/ESXi experience required
- Intel Blade Center experience a plus
- Citrix XenApp 6.5 is a plus
- SAN experience is a plus
- CCNA Certification is a plus
- MCSE Certification is a plus
Key Responsibilities: 25% support/75% project work
- Basic Break/Fix of hardware
- Problem determination
- Handling escalated calls from the helpdesk
- Emergency Triage Support
- Install Virtual Applications with Citrix
- Follow up with users to ensure that these applications work
- Deploy Active Directory
