A challenging and exciting opportunity has arisen in the Compliance area, which has previously allowed candidates to expand their skills at a rapid rate influencing Agent compliance, as well as allowing opportunities for proactive personal development.

The use of Third Party agents by Members for a wide variety of services has grown significantly over recent years. The programme has recently started to undergo some exciting changes which will see Visa Europe at the forefront of Agent registration activity.

This role will focus on logging, reviewing and monitoring third party agent registrations, as well as reporting on progress and liaising with Members and third party agents on registration and compliance matters. The role will also have responsibility for driving PCI DSS compliance at third parties including managing the web listing of PCI DSS Validated service providers, educating and communicating with Members, Qualified Security Assessors and third parties.

Key accountabilities

As most member and third party compliance issues are highly contentious, involving considerable commercial interests and merchant relationships, it is expected that candidates are able to demonstrate solid experience in successful negotiations at a relatively senior level.

Key Accountabilities are:

  • Effective operational management of Visa Europe's Third Party Risk Management
  • Communicate and implement decisions by the Visa Europe Compliance Council
  • Ensure that Members' expectations of Visa Europe are understood, and that Visa Europe's expectations and requirements are clearly communicated and adhered to Includes presenting complex issues at such forums as Visa Europe Compliance Council.
  • Engage with, and win support of, key stakeholders (both internal and external) for Visa Europe's approach to managing the risk associated with the Third Party Agent environment
  • Act as Subject Matter Expert with respect to Third Party Risk Management. Provide knowledge base and tailored education and awareness raising to reduce the risks associated with the Third Party Agent environment
  • Support Visa Management to manage External Communications & Crisis Management to ensure that Visa Europe has credible public positions and messages on issues relating to management of third party risk, and the integrity of the Visa payment system and that adequate information is available to key decision-makers
  • Build and maintain positive business relations with key stakeholders across Visa Europe and the rest of the world
  • Act as credible and inspiring Team Member to increase value of team contribution, ensure motivation, and create adaptable, flexible and committed team dynamic
  • The role entails a minimal amount of travel and the role itself reports to the Head of Acceptance Risk Programmes , within Risk Compliance and Corporate Services.

Essential criteria

  • Extensive knowledge of the Visa system, and the acceptance environment
  • Knowledge of the Visa payment System, its governance principles and Visa Europe's compliance framework
  • Knowledge of PCI DSS
  • Knowledge of the four party payment model, as well as the role and risks associated with non-traditional players (third parties)
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills - gaining consent from other stakeholders to promote Visa Europe's Third Party Risk Management policies and objectives
  • Strong presentation and communication skills
  • Strong experience of direct management of customers and stakeholders
  • Ability to influence senior management and key stakeholders (internal and external)
  • Experience in managing challenging, complex and sensitive situations - maintaining a clear business position whilst managing relationships
  • Experience in managing cultural sensitivities
  • Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders and gain consensus
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Desirable criteria :

  • Graduate degree level qualification (technical/business) or equivalent
  • Knowledge of foreign languages would be advantageous but is not essential
