Our client, a large public sector organisation based in Nottingham has an immediate requirement for a Senior HR Advisor to join their team on an initial 6 month contract.

Job role:

Leading a small team, you will assist the Senior Managers in providing a comprehensive Human Resource function throughout the whole of the organisation.

This is a very generalist HR role and as the Senior HR Advisor you will manage, take the lead and motivate the HR team ensuring high quality services are provided whilst contributing to the strategic aims of the organisation.

You will also take on the following accountabilities:

  • Provide support and advice to managers and employees of all levels on various HR matters paying particular attention towards - Recruitment and Selection, Remuneration and in addition, ensuring approved procedures and practices are complied with.
  • Assist with the development of consistent and effective recruitment and selection procedures complying with prevailing best practice and guidelines.
  • Advise and assist management in all employee relations matters to ensure that all employment legislation and local policies and procedures are complied with.
  • Experience of monitoring and implementing ways to reduce absenteeism.
  • Prepare corporate information on key performance indicators and statistical data, interpreting results and producing reports.
  • To attend appropriate disciplinary and grievance hearings and advise management on policies and best practice.
  • To undertake various HR projects.
  • To participate in specific corporate groups as the HR representative.
  • To accompany service managers on welfare visits and offer advice and guidance on matters concerning staff welfare.
  • To attend recruitment interviews when required.

As the ideal candidate, you will be CIPD qualified, have demonstrated transferable experience in most or all of the above accountabilities for the post, have previous experience of managing a team and consist of experience working within the public sector.
