Mechanical Engineer - CAD - Wildfire 5.0 - Dundee - Scotland. My client is looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer who can perform complex activities relating to design, testing and evaluation of mechanical and electro-mechanical devices and systems. You will also be required to perform state-of-the-art product development activities, including drawing board layout and interpretation and implementation of customer specifications.

This is a challenging position to work in a small development team located in Dundee. A key requirement is to have a keen interest in the design of electro/mechanical devices operating under S/W control. The role will be responsible for creating design concepts, making design updates to existing mechanisms and progressing these through to assembly and design validation.

Other responsibilities include:

  • To evaluate different technologies and provide design recommendations
  • Creating cost effective and innovative design concepts
  • Create design packages ready for Supplier part production
  • Conduct Design reviews and gather cross functional feedback
  • Release packages using the approved system all relevant documentation

The successful candidate should have a strong understanding of Mechanical principles and technology, a degree in Mechanical Engineering, a strong understanding of documentation and an ability to work solely on problems as well as within a team.

Candidates must have the following experience:

  • CAD (Must be experienced in Pro/Engineer, Wildfire 5.0 preferably)
  • A good understanding of mechanical drive systems
  • Module Test and problem recreation
  • Module/Product architectures
  • A logical mind for problem solving
  • An ability to work with cross functional teams
