Our Dallas Client is seeking a Senior Exchange Engineer.

Basic Functon:

The Exchange Engineer works within the Messaging Team (under regular supervision) to provide daily administration and management of local and remote Microsoft Windows server systems, both virtual machines and OS on a mix of hardware platforms (predominantly Compaq/HP and Dell).

Principal Responsibilities, Activities and Accountabilities:

Responsibilities include:

Assist in the implementation, documentation and support of corporate and customers hosted messaging environments primarily but not limited to Exchange.

Provide second-level support of issues.

Protection and management of physical and information assets.

Assist in the implementation of enterprise disaster recovery plans.

Activities include:

Manage and administer all e-mail messaging systems and their corresponding or associated software and hardware.

Install, configure, and maintain Exchange Servers, software, and any other corresponding equipment.

Support established service level agreements.

Provide on-call technical support.

Set and administer server storage space allotments, resource reservations, and directory assistance.

Monitor and analyze e-mail system activities to ensure maximum performance, efficiency, and availability.

Monitor and test e-Mail Server software performance and provide statistics and reports.

Analyze e-mail system or application usage and plan for growth or increases in network capacity.

Administer and maintain auxiliary and supplemental components for the Exchange messaging environment, (eg, antivirus, user management portal, and error log tracking).

Identify and resolve problems affecting messaging systems performance, efficiency, and availability in a timely manner.

Assess need for any messaging system reconfigurations (minor or significant) and execute them as required in accordance with established procedures.

Recommend, schedule, and perform software improvements, upgrades, and/or purchases.

Add, remove, certify, and move new or existing end-user accounts and administer permissions and access rights.

Maintain and verify system documentation.

Maintain system security.

Respond promptly to resolve issues reported through ticketing system.

Create private and public mailing folders and lists, calendaring services, address books, and shared mail applications.

Develop, implement and maintain policies, procedures, and associated training plans for messaging system administration and appropriate use.

Where necessary, provide end-user training and support through verbal and/or written communications.

Interact and negotiate with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to secure e-mail software, products, and services.

Assist in migration projects to newer versions of Exchange.

Requirements and Qualifications:

Education:

Prefer college degree in Computer Science or related field.

Technical Certifications preferred: MCSE.

Experience:

5+ years Exchange Engineer experience in an enterprise IT environment that includes administration, support and implementation of networked Windows server systems.

Knowledge-level required.

Intermediate:
o Current MS Windows Server Operating Systems and Active Directory.
o DNS/WINS/DHCP.
o VMware ESX and associated tools.
o Virtual Machine deployment and management.
o Troubleshooting skills.

Working:
o Terminal Services/RDP administration.
o Internetworking concepts and Server Side implementation.
o Citrix administration.
o System security.

Working Conditions:

Normal business hours with occasional extended hours as needed for project implementation or customer support.

Oncall rotation.
