Mechanical Development Engineer
Essential Experience:
Two or more year's experience working with multidisciplinary teams, to design and develop mechanical components and systems, within the research/development department of a commercial company.
Experience of low to medium volume product development for industrial applications, with a proven track record of delivering cost effective design work to agreed timescales.
Experience of using AutoDesk Inventor to produce 3D models, detail component drawings, and assembly drawings
Desirable Experience:
Two or more years experience designing sheet metal welded fabrications and precision machined components. Knowledge of plastic injection moulding, aluminium extrusion design and pneumatic systems would be advantageous.
Experience of using AutoDesk Mechanical Desktop to produce 3D models, detail component drawings, and assembly drawings is also advantageous.
Experience of hygienic design and an understanding of suitable materials, manufacturing techniques and assembly principles for the food or pharmaceutical industry.
An understanding of FMEA, Design For Manual Assembly, and Value Analysis Value Engineering techniques.
Familiarity with FEA tools (preference being given to a candidate with experience of Cosmos Design Star).
