*Interim Finance Director*

A large financial services client based in Kingswood, Surrey is looking for an Interim Finance Director to join them ASAP for an initial 3 months.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct and maintain robust financial management, financial reporting, forecasting and planning disciplines for P&D to influence the activities of the business to sustain the development and distribution of good value products and comply with Group and UK financial policies and guidelines including Customer Experience and Treating Customers Fairly policy.
  • Direct production of the annual plan and budgets for P&D, for approval by the MD, Savings Finance Director and Group Executive Director (Savings). Apply sound commercial judgement to ensure that all major spend is fully justified and that expenditure remains within the approved budget/forecast.
  • Deliver a comprehensive financial planning, financial modelling, budgetary and financial monitoring service. Where necessary, alert senior management and if appropriate intervene to ensure that P&D remains on track to achieve its financial targets and objectives.
  • Critique strategic plans and tactical initiatives to ensure they are commercially justified and financially sound and will deliver incremental business benefit. Proactively participate in the development and delivery of P&D strategies. Ensure key development/change initiatives are subject to rigorous, ongoing financial business benefit review and where appropriate, take action to address material shortfalls.
  • Build a comprehensive understanding of P&D and broader Savings products' financial dynamics by establishing strong working relationships with Savings Product Actuaries. Use the knowledge gained to ensure that P&D reporting, IFRS and Capital Management information takes full account of Products' key financial assumptions
  • Develop and lead strong working relationships across team and divisional boundaries, particularly Retail Savings and Banks and Building Societies Division and actively support peers.
  • Manage the Sales Force variable compensation calculation and query resolution process and produce timely and insightful analysis, highlighting trends, risks and opportunities to be presented to senior management.
    Lead on all matters with regard to the management of employees, ensuring that management discretion is used in a consistent manner and that the area follows the Group's policies and procedures including the Partnership Agreement to maximise business performance.

Qualifications
+ CCAB qualified

Specific Experience
+ Commercially oriented, qualified accountant with experience of operating at senior management level within a fast moving business environment.
+ Extensive experience of leading strategic & financial planning processes and comfortable with articulating the outcomes and recommendations at Board level.
+ Able to make strong contributions to the business beyond the core financial discipline.
+ Demonstrable evidence of driving change through incisive financial & business analysis; capable of leading delivery of change to achieve businesses' growth and profit objectives.
+ Experience of tackling complex business and financial issues and of adding value in both business decision-making and implementation.
+ Excellent interpersonal skills and broad experience of building & leading teams which deliver a rigorous, but commercial finance service to the business.
