GREAT contract to perm opportunity to join a global technology company with self-service solutions for ATM machines and software, POS and Retail systems, and airline check-in systems as a Software Configuration Engineer!

In this role you will be responsible for software source code storage and archiving, change control, configuration management and build processes.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Build systems from internally developed source-files and third-party libraries to release to internal and external parties
Ensures proper archiving and ability to audit product releases
Support multiple development teams, multiple code lines and build and deliver frequent releases
Perform multiple daily builds for multiple software releases
Controls branching and merging of the code base
Maintains and administers departmental build machines
Setup and configuration of PC systems
Develop/maintain application tools that build, deploy, automate and streamline code management and product delivery process
Troubleshoot errors in build environment
Update various types of build scripts
Install applications on hardware, manage Servers
Interface with various and multi-disciplinary teams to plan, execute, fix and/or maintain software builds
Identify, resolve and proactively communicate potential problems with management
Develop and improve build communication channels, and develop, improve, and document build processes and procedures
The individual must possess knowledge of Software Configuration Management principles, processes and best practices
Other job related duties as assigned 

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
2-4+ years experience as a Software Build Engineer, Release Manager, Change Management Engineer or Software Configuration Engineer/Analyst 2+ years working with Microsoft technology, including C#/.Net, VC++ and Team Foundation Server (TFS), preferred Proficient in developing with VB, VC++, C#, XML and other Scripting languages
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Works well within teams
Knowledge of PC hardware and operating systems (Windows)
Experience with one or more sophisticated software configuration management/source code control tools such as Visual Source Safe, PVCS, Perforce, Telelogic Change Synergy, VSTS and MS Team Foundation Server
Use and configuration of automated build tools and processes, preferred
Familiarity with VSTS and MS Team Foundation Server a plus
Software configuration process and/or tool implementation a plus
Development and/or Quality Testing experience a plus
