Title: System Analyst
Location: Calabasas, CA
Type: Contract
Duration: 6 months
Our client, a leading financial institution, seeks a Systems Analyst. The right candidate will be responsible for working with user enhancement requests, data analysis, production issues, production releases, sign-offs, pre-deployment and post production support. SQL experience is a must (eg writing queries, create reports 5+years). SSIS experience is a plus. Experience with BRD and documentation is a plus. Must be a self-starter, have good analytical and communication skills. In essence, looking for someone who is a true Sr. Systems Analyst with a blend of IT Business Analyst data analysis & QA background. This is not a developer role. We are not looking for someone that has an ample amount of SQL and Datawarehouse experience (might be considered as overqualified).
- Must have at least 5+ years experience in Data and Systems Analysis.
- Must have at least 3+ years experience in a Business Analysis role.
- Must be adept at applying software development life cycle concepts and best practices.
- Must be able to support all technology teams in analysing data to ensure it meets corporate policy and business data requirements for the ongoing Business Initiatives.
- Must have expert understanding of the structures, usage and sources of data.
- Must be able to grasp the context in which data is used within the business and match business requirements to the sources of data within systems.
- Must be able to work with client and IT management and staff to establish and maintain consistent data element definitions across computing environments.
- Will be required to participate in the development and maintenance of corporate data architecture, data management standards and conventions, data dictionaries and data element naming standards, and conventions for multiple computing environments to support data warehousing and efficient data mining.
- Must possess thorough knowledge on how to write SQL queries and understand the business meaning of data.
- Must possess knowledge of MS SQL Server software internal architecture, concepts and tools.
- Must possess knowledge of SQL 2005 Reporting Services and Integration Services software.
- Must be able to work closely with the members of the Development Team and Business Groups to review the designs of systems, implement test plans, and test the quality of software products and data.
- Must be able to advise and consult on the implementation of systems business requirements.
- Must have proven expertise in developing documentation and in supporting the systems development life cycle through implementation
Mortgage industry business knowledge is a plus.
