Our direct client is a hugely popular computer components creator seeking support for their wireless chipset for a cellular base station coupled with an IA host processor to provide complete solution for multi-standard (WCDMA/HSPA+, LTE, LTE-Advanced) Wireless Base Stations.
The candidate in this contract position will define requirements, system architecture, performance targets and pipeline analysis for WCDMA/HSPA+ downlink and uplink baseband pipeline.
- 5+ years of relevant experience as a Systems engineer including recent, direct, hands on experience with RAKE Cellular Receivers.
- Experience and extensive working knowledge of Wireless PHY baseband protocols for WCDMA/HSPA/CDMA standards
- Working knowledge of uplink processing pipeline implementation on traditional DSP architectures; pipeline includes Rake receiver, Channel estimation, equalization, interference cancellation, dispreading/descrambling
- In-depth understanding of traditional DSP architectures including VLIW Solid understanding of 3GPP standards for HSPA+ and LTE releases
- Demonstrated ability to prototype, optimize and debug various wireless baseband algorithms using ISA, micro-architecture features (eg multi-threading) and offload via accelerators
- Solid background in Operating Systems (Linux, RTOS, Real Time extensions) preferred
