PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
The current commercial license databases and applications were developed in the late 1980's, are on a Unisys Mainframe using Cobol applications and DMSII - a proprietary non-relational database. The system supports the collection of data necessary for managing commercial and occupational license and permits issued by Client' department. This project will replace the existing databases with a new database using current Client' department approved technology.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Contractor will work with the development team at Client' department to write code to preserve the functionality currently on the Unisys system when it makes sense to do so, and not attempt to gold plate the existing functionality. There will be times when improvements cannot be avoided, and if feasible would take advantage of these opportunities, but the goal is to have a first cut system that will function to meet requirements in the product backlog. Development of the new database will be completed by this contractor and Client' departmentstaff.
Daily Responsibilities:

1 Review and analyze new application requirements as defined and approved by ODFW. Create database model and design.
2 Finish TFS setup, for each sprint create tasks for each story in product backlog.
3 Start plan for data migration of Unisys data/offload history to repository. Create plan script process and to verify data.
4 Review and get consensus on product backlog with team and product owners - change as needed, then desired product owner acceptance.
5 Identify Unisys functions and list.
6 Daily scrum meetings to review and plan to develop code to replicate needed functions on new platform - complete the sprint work activity as defined during sprint review and planning.
7 Parallel testing with Unisys and new system. Training on new system. Final bug fixes.
8 Document and deploy.
9 Follow up - feedback loop for recording issues.
