Ethics & Compliance Manager - Sunbury

My client, a high profile oil & gas company is looking for an Ethics & Compliance Manager to join their team in Middlesex.

This role is accountable for ensuring that the activities of Eastern Hemisphere entities are conducted in an ethical and compliant manner. This role will also influence key stakeholders in allied corporate functions in taking a collaborative approach towards building a culture of ethics and compliance, promoting the Code of Conduct and mitigating ethics & compliance risks, ultimately pushing forward the E&C strategy and agenda in conjunction with partners of E&C. The post holder, in conjunction with the Director, Ethics and Compliance, is additionally accountable for overseeing the effective management of its ethics and compliance risks.

Key Results/Accountabilities:
1. With the Ethics & Compliance Director, design and deliver an annual ethics and compliance plan for Eastern Hemisphere entities.
2. Designing, building and implementing ethics and compliance risk mitigation tools and processes used within Eastern Hemisphere entities.
3. Maintaining an oversight and coaching relationship on ethics and compliance risks for Eastern Hemisphere Leaders and Leadership teams, to embed and influence a strong culture of ethics and compliance.
4. Providing training on appropriate Ethics and Compliance risks and other issues within operations of Eastern Hemisphere.
5. Professional oversight and assessment of the identification, management and mitigation of compliance and ethics risks within operations of Eastern Hemisphere entities.
6. Maintaining and enhancing a programme to support the population of Ethics and Compliance Leaders (ECLs) within Eastern Hemisphere entities - education and learning, ECL deliverables and accountabilities, and role descriptions.
7. Leading, developing and maintaining cross functional (eg HR and Internal Audit) dialogue and collaboration around ethics and compliance risk mitigation.
8. Facilitating annual Code of Conduct Certification, ensuring certification takes place and that all leaders deliver certificates.
9. Managing discrete hands-on risks and issues as required.

4. Experience & Expertise
a. Educational background
Degree and/or equivalent professional qualification.

b. Experience Proven track record of delivery
Minimum of 5-7 years or equivalent experience with a blue chip multi-national
Strong knowledge of the energy industry
Proven ability to influence senior leaders to enact significant change
Knowledge and experience of managing relevant ethics and compliance risks to include, but not limited to: bribery and corruption, antitrust or competition, money laundering, HSSE, trade compliance (export/import/sanctions), conflicts, gifts and entertainment, retaliation.
Significant experience in building strong ethical and speak-up cultures
Significant experience in developing networks and influencing to achieve desired results
Experience of effective cross functional collaboration
Understanding of Open Talk or similar organisational helpline.
