Position Summary:
Under general supervision of the Quality Assurance and Testing Analyst Lead, independently provides consultation at the highest technical level to project team and client areas assisting with the successful development and implementation of effective computer systems applications across multiple computing environments. Accountabilities:
Manage large-scale projects, leading appropriate resources, determining project requirements and deliverables to ensure successful implementation to meet user needs.
Utilizing Project Life Cycle Methodology and Testing Practice Framework, ensure successful project conclusions as measured by meeting Department, I.S, Client and Corporate objectives.
Ensure deadlines for review and reporting responsibilities are met.
Lead, assist and provide technical/operational guidance to project personnel.
Displays effective interpersonal relation skills in the coordination of staff and the scheduling of Testing tasks.
On a regular basis, communicates technical issues, project assignments and testing and project staff responsibilities during individual and departmental meetings.
Provide assistance to associates and Quality Assurance and Testing Analysts in the design and execution of test plans and procedures for the acceptance testing of new or modified application systems in an environment of diverse development platforms, computing environments, software, hardware technology, tools etc.
Anticipates and keeps Lead and or Manager of QAT and project staff informed of future or planned events which could impact on implementations.
Displays ability to interface with users with minimal supervision; and has effectively and accurately communicated management policies and protocols in such dealings.
Displays good judgment, compatible with established policies and procedures in matters where there is little precedent.
Provides comprehensive consulting to client, I.S. management, and project teams regarding QA/Testing, quality control, implementation issues, development of new or modified applications.
On a regular basis, interface with management team to provide status and user feedback.
Coordinates project testing between I.S., client, vendor and business areas; responses are intelligible and comprehensive, displays a clear understanding and an accurate reflection of company goals, objectives, policies, procedures and priorities. The majority of inquiries and issues are addressed independently.
Disseminates between routine and significant, sensitive matters or those issues for which direct response is inappropriate; and promptly apprises Quality Assurance and Testing Lead or Manager.
Requests are addressed promptly and courteously; commitments are honored and persistence is displayed in obtaining necessary information to address issues and problems.
Coordinates testing activities and systems security for implementations, upgrades and routine business.
Set-up, configure and execute Unix batch processes in development, testing, and training environments.
Documents and tracks metrics to assists tech leads in tuning jobs for optimum performance.
Performs dry-run of production deployment of Unix, Sybase and Oracle objects to testing environment.
Reviews QA migration documentation for completeness and accuracy.
Displays an ability to anticipate and be responsive to management and client needs and exercise proper judgment in performing as part of the Quality Assurance and Testing Team.
Correspondence and reports are highly articulate, grammatically and structurally correct, and address the issue at hand thoroughly, accurately and in a logical progression and flow of thought; verbal presentations are handled in like fashion.
Responses to management requests display a firm understanding of policies, procedures and Plan mandates and operations.
Can be trusted to utilize proper judgment relative to keeping superiors informed of specific operational problems or events which impact on departmental or overall operations.
Performs other assignments as required by the Quality Assurance and Testing Manager or Lead.
Displays a high degree of cooperation in accepting and completing special assignments within prescribed timeframes.
Input on special assignments is comprehensive and generally displays an understanding of the desired objective and approach.
Qualifications:
B.S. or equivalent experience in Computer Science or related discipline
Minimum 4 years of progressive experience in systems development and Managed Care Applications, Operations, desirable.
Minimum 4 years of progressive experience in systems analysis, programming, QA Testing, or an equivalent combination of educations and work experience.
Other Requirements:
Demonstrated experience with successfully managing multiple concurrent projects.
Excellent written and verbal communications skills for use with internal clients.
Knowledge of QA procedures, principles and tools.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, problem solving and analytical ability, strong judgment and project management skills.
Ability to work effectively with clients, IS associates and project staff.
Has a broad understanding of inter/intra departmental policies, procedures, functions, etc.
Strong working knowledge of Excel, Word, Access and/or other database applications.
