MODIFICATIONS ENGINEER - ABERDEEN - 12 MONTH CONTRACT - £ PER DAY

My client, a major Oil & Gas operator based in Aberdeen is currently looking to appoint an experienced Modification's Engineer to effectively manage the engineering and construction contractor, ensuring all work is prioritised in line with asset safety, production, environmental and OPEX objectives

The successful individual will provide specialist technical/engineering advice and support to onshore/offshore personnel; this role will be working within the Modifications team, with the role reporting direct to the Modifications Lead. Candidates with experience of managing the completion of minor engineering mods for North Sea Assets would be of appeal as this role has a heavy emphasis on working with and managing the E&C contractor, so exposure to this type of interaction in the past would be beneficial.

Responsibilities in the role

*Strive to create a safe workplace and to protect the environment
*Manage the activities of the engineering and construction contractor ensuring work is completed in compliance with corporate standards and SESR policies & procedures and industry regulations
*Ensure engineering & construction work is prioritised in line with the Asset's safety, production environmental and OPEX objectives
*Review and challenge the E&C contractors output to ensure optimum use of methods and resources. Identify opportunities to improve contractor/supplier performance, reduce costs and improve the quality of services supplied
*Prepare and effectively manage discipline budget and prepare cost & schedule estimates and reports
*Provide specialist technical engineering support to Facilities Engineering teams and other functions as required
*Initiate and deliver technically sound and innovative solutions to ensure continuous improvement within discipline to deliver improved reliability and maintenance performance
*Ensure Engineering Change procedures and working practices are reviewed and updated to reflect the business model
*Ensure close out of engineering modifications is completed in a timely manner
*Undertake regular offshore visits to liaise with operations personnel
*Develop and maintain positive and constructive relationships with engineering & construction stakeholders eg OIM's, Field Managers, Joint Venture Partners, O&M teams, D&C teams etc and hold regular feedback meetings with these stakeholders
*Represent the Company at meetings with joint venture partners, industry forums and government bodies
*May be required to provide coaching and mentoring support to less experienced engineers/graduate engineers
*Openly and proactively shares knowledge
*Take ownership for the continuous development of personal and technical expertise and knowledge

Skills & experience required

*Previous experience of operations and maintenance in the offshore oil and gas industry
*Proven track record of identifying and developing sound and innovative technical solutions
*Knowledge of associated technical/engineering disciplines eg process, planning, mechanical
*Technical proficiency in IT programmes/systems eg Excel, SAP MMS, engineering software.
*Fully familiar with UK industry regulations relating to the oil and gas industry
*Experience of dealing with eg HSE, DTI and joint venture partners
*Effective relationship-builder at all levels, internally and externally
