Security Architect & Design Security Specialist

Location: South Hampshire

Duration: Five months [Initially]

EXCLUSIVE OPPORTUNITY: Steria Recruitment Ltd (a Steria company) provides recruitment and resourcing solutions to Steria, a leading European IT service provider.

This is an exciting new contract opportunity working for our important and well known Central Government client based in the South of Hampshire.

We are seeking an experienced Security Architect & Design Security Specialist Provides support and guidance in relation to the design and specification of a new Secure Research Environment (SRE).

Requirement: -

  • Security specialist with experience of HMG Information Assurance standards and good practices, providing support and guidance in relation to the accreditation of large and complex systems.
  • Production of a formal SRE Risk Management and Accreditation Document Set (RMADS) for the system in accordance with HMG Information Assurance Standards 1 and 2.
  • Production of a Security Aspects of Design document capturing all Security Architecture elements.
  • Managing the implementation of the Security Architecture through Design, Build, Test and Operate phases.
  • Liaison with appropriate business units and suppliers to obtain information and documentation as necessary,
  • Detailed review of technical documentation and production of security evidence.
  • Carrying out technical risk assessments,
  • Specifying security requirements and producing Risk Management and Accreditation Document Sets (RMADS).
  • Acting as the technical security lead for the Beyond 2011 Secure Research Environment project.

Desirable/Essential skills and experience: -

Essential

  • Knowledge and experience of HMG Information Assurance Policy, Standards and Guidance.
  • Solid understanding of security risk management and accreditation principles
  • Solid understanding of network security principles and architectures
  • Good understanding of common technologies including Firewalls, IDS/IPS, AV, RAS, Virtualisation, Encryption, Active Directory.
  • Experience of carrying out risk assessments using Information Assurance Standard No.1 (IS1)
  • Experience of producing Risk Management and Accreditation Document Sets in accordance with Information Assurance Standard No.2 (IS2)
  • Recognised skills as a Security Architect working in HMG environments
  • Clear and concise approach to technical documentation
  • Ability to gain SC clearance

Desirable

  • CESG Listed Advisor Scheme (CLAS) membership
  • Security related degree or qualifications (eg MSc., CISSP, CISM, InstISP, etc.)
  • Good interpersonal skills and experience of working with 3rd party infrastructure providers
