The Data-ICT (DID) within the directorate conducts the national tasks in the field of data and ICT. The DID provides data acquisition, data management, data provision, ICT management and ICT development to support the processes of Rijkswaterstaat. ICT development will take place in architecture. Within the ICT field as much as possible working with plots in which the various ICT domains players are or are outsourced (Workstations, Networks & Telephony, computer centers and application development and management).
The product management Networking is responsible for the correct connection between business requirements and network functionality, cost efficiency and control on life cycle management of the own data communications network. The management and the design responsibility of the network is outsourced to a private party. The product management networks has developed a commissioning and monitoring role in this outsourcing party.
Developments that are currently playing are: introduction of QoS, IPv6, access control LAN, Wireless LAN, Optimization of Rekencentra LAN environments, Bring Your Own Device.
In addition, the Senior Network Architect from its networking expertise to contribute to an ongoing program broad framework of standardizing the KA/RC infrastructure based on an advanced technical target architecture. Coordination with other product clusters and workstations and connecting to government standards, the testing of Enterprise Architecture and Security Guidelines and principles are part of the responsibilities.

- Knowledge and experience with IP network architectures (LAN and WAN)

- Experience with data, voice and video traffic over IP Networks
