GREAT contract to perm opportunity to join a global technology company with self-service solutions for ATM machines and software, POS and Retail systems, and airline check-in systems as a Project Manager in the Alpharetta area!
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Establish a successful team structure focusing on quality and client satisfaction.
Define metrics to evaluate development performance and track improvement.
Analyze development processes and procedures to determine areas for improvement.
Execute process improvement projects.
Review developers performance and provide proactive and constructive feedback as necessary.
Drive skill development to ensure team is most effective.
Deliver software development assignments on time and within budget through effective team structure.
Ensure projects deliver high quality.
Ensure project tasks are carried out according to the relevant processes (eg Software engineering).
Manage quality rollout of projects to ensure repeat business and/or enhance company reputation.
Oversee quality control of project tasks to monitor development.
Supervise staff assigned to project tasks and take corrective actions swiftly when necessary.
Review business and technical analysis.
Prepare and present recommendations on technical and product development issues as well as progress reports.
Produce estimates and quotations.
Serve as a liaison with clients, project sponsor and client manager as required.
Other job related duties as assigned.
Staff team with appropriate skill set and level to optimize quality and throughput development.
Provide input to the department procedures, methodology, and standards.
Assist Product Management in defining the user requirements and solution definition for new solutions.
Work closely with Quality Engineering and Product Support group to improve quality of the product.
Work closely with Project Managers on resolving project issues (eg technical, staffing, planning).
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field required.
10+ years of related experience.
At least 5 years hands-on development covering analysis, programming and testing roles.
At least 2 years of project leader experience and in a commercial sales driven environment.
At least 1 year with direct client contact.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience in retail environment.
Ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical people.
Ability to write clear unambiguous reports and specifications.
Ability to create and execute strategies to meet tight deadlines and manage conflicting priorities.
Ability to work in modes of team player, team lead, independently and choose the correct one for each situation.
Ability to work within guidelines and maintain relationships when pressured otherwise by higher management or clients.
Combination of career ambition and willingness to do whatever tasks are required to get a project done.
