We are currently seeking a Sr. Technology Architect within UNIX to be responsible for the daily, weekly, and monthly activities required to deliver multiple project tasks on-time while following all process and procedures, escalating issues as necessary, and creating/updating all necessary documentation. In addition, You will be responsible for but not limited to OS installs, upgrades, hardware moves and migrations, new server builds, providing advanced escalation support (including engaging vendor support), performance monitoring and tuning, host configuration of provisioned SAN storage and project management.

Additional responsibilities: -Infrastructure design and configuration including hardware platform, operating systems, and layered software necessary to enable Cerner's (or other 3rd party) software solutions.
-Identifying new enabling technologies and platforms to help solve technical challenges or limitations in the existing infrastructure.
-Testing/validating the use of new versions of existing technology infrastructure such as new layered software releases (ie Test/validate new version of Citrix or Web Sphere).

Qualifications
-Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
-5+ years UNIX Support experience
-Ability to work overtime and irregular hours when needed, including some nights and weekends
-Knowledge of IBM and HP hardware, including AIX, HPUX, and Linux operating systems
-Understanding of high availability system design concepts and configuration best practices
-Broad knowledge of IBM hardware

Preferred Qualifications:
-Current RHCE/IBM AIX/HP UX certification
-Excellent verbal and written skills
-Ability to manage multiple project tasks simultaneously
-Experience with SAN/Storage technology
-HPUX Ignite and/or IBM NIM
-Multi-pathing software, such as HP Auto-Path, MPIO, Securepath
-IBM System hardware including latest p5 and P6 series, or HP rx series hardware
-Shell Scripting (Shell/Perl)
-Must possess the initiative to resolve issues before they become critical
-Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
-Propensity for knowledge sharing
-Ability to work in a team environment
-Innovative, self-motivated, and able to interact with all levels of the organization
-Ability to work assigned night or day schedule and work off-hours when required
