Description
SQL Server DBA
Need a resource to primarily focus on SQL Server (currently using SQL 2005 & 2008) and will be reviewing tickets that come through. A large portion of the job will be processing ad-hoc service requests. They are a team environment so they will not solely be responsible for all tickets and maintenance.
The database administrators will be responsible for the support and operation of commercial database management software and related facilities which include query tools, data management tools, development tools, performance monitors and utility software. This position applies to Mainframe, Unix or NT databases.
Candidates must have a strong level of competence in dealing with complex database systems and the ability to coordinate with users to determine requirements. Must analyze, design, create and implement complex database structures considering access methods, device allocations, security and performance issues.
Qualifications
BS/BA Degree, preferably in Computer Science or comparable experience
3-5 years of experience working on the computer platform as a programmer or Associate DBA
2 years of experience programming with the target DBMS
Strong knowledge of SQL (Scripting)
Good verbal and written communication skills.
