This is a contract opportunity with ODFW in Salem, OR. This is a fixed bid deliverables based contract.

Project Description:

The current commercial license databases and applications were developed in the late 1980's, are on a Unisys Mainframe using Cobol applications and DMSII - a proprietary non-relational database. The system supports the collection of data necessary for managing commercial and occupational license and permits issued by ODFW. This project will replace the existing databases with a new database using current ODFW approved technology. This application is used throughout the agency to provide licenses and permits and also accessed by Oregon State Police to verify and enforce license and permit compliance.

This project, to be undertaken by Contractors, is to create programming code using C# ASP.NET MVC using Microsoft SQL 2008 R2 database server, testing and documentation of code for ODFW to migrate numerous small ODFW Commercial Licensing systems from the Unisys Mainframe into a new integrated Commercial License system. The framework for code development is Visual Studios 2010 using Agile Scrum development life cycle. This project is a critical system conversion that is part of the full Unisys migration project underway at ODFW.

The following types of licenses and permits exist on various ODFW databases and applications and are candidates for inclusion in this project. The critical systems to be developed are the Fishing licenses and permits.
