Description
Our multi billion turnover client are looking to employ a Java Application Designer and Developer in Holland on a 6-12 month contract basis. They are working on a complex system and simulation project geared around regulatory compliance within the Financial Service Industry.
The successful person will define the functional design of a complex finance engine in Java. The role will require knowledge of data management, systems architecture, solution design, Spring, J2EE, Unix, Linux, Tomcat, JBOSS, XML, WebSphere, Eclipse, test driven development (TDD), continuous integration, version control, SQL, producing quality code, etc
Other responsibilities will include:
*Enterprise Java application design.
*Enterprise Java application development.
*Systems integration
*Design technical solutions against customer or technical requirements
*Support environment setup and testers during testing.
*Documentation
*Implementation, deploy & hand-over
Essential Skills and Experience needed are:
*Enterprise Java design and development experience (min 7-9 years) including web services
*Technical architecture definition/design for Java application
*Knowledge of technical architecture procedures and controls
Experience of designing large integrated IT systems.
*Experience of working within a large complex systems/projects with strict deadlines
*Experience of working with Quants/MATHS/Actuarial.
*Experience of delivering an automated system with performance tuning
*Excellent knowledge and experience of Object Oriented programming and OO design.
*Experience of Multi-threaded design and development and clustered environment
*Experience and understanding of business and technical architecture
*Knowledge of integrated solutions
Desirable skills are:
*Solvency II/Basel II
*Knowledge of R programming or willingness to learn R
*Insurance/Financial services sector project experience.
