Description
Client seeking a Sr Project Manager for a 6 month Contract to Hire opportunity! Under very limited supervision, The Sr. Project Manager will perform budget tracking, communications, progress monitoring and management reporting. The PM will maintain a fully resource loaded scheduled, track plans and activities, manage interfaces between other projects impacting the program, coordinate and monitor activities to ensure programs are tracking on budget and on schedule; take and publish minutes; and communicate program status. The Sr. Project Manager must be technically competent in information technologies and promote use of PMI best practices.
Primary Position Responsibilities
- Accountability responsibility for overall project/program success from start to finish.
Provide budget analysis, resource planning coordination of activities. - Work closely with business clients:
To gather, analyze and document all of the solution requirement details. - Define and refine a detailed scope of work for all project deliverables.
- Develop a detailed program schedule to produce all of the required deliverables.
- Excellent knowledge and skill utilizing MS Enterprise Project Server and Project Web Access including resource pool management and allocation, timesheet progression, querying, dashboard reporting
- Prepare and publish MS Project and MS PowerPoint presentations communicating the status of projects and initiatives on a weekly basis.
- Manage, monitor, escalate & communicate progress against the plan on a regular basis.
- Manage and track changes, issues risks associated with the program.
- Manage the acceptance of all formal program deliverables.
Close the program on completion of all deliverables. - Lead, manage, and monitor program teams to execute the project according to plan.
- Follow established PMO project plans (ie change, schedule risk & issue).
- Proactively manage and resolve issues to minimize crises and escalations, while proactively informing and escalating to appropriate leadership level.
- Provide leadership, guidance and assistance to project team members throughout the project/program life cycle.
- Provide leadership and mentoring to peers within PMO organization.
- May serve as a Project Manager lead within the PMO.
Position Requirements:
- Project Management Institute certification /PMP Preferred.
- 7 - 10 years experience as a PM.
- Experience with Microsoft Project.
- Experience with Microsoft SharePoint.
- Broad range of technology experience including programming, customer information systems, billing, report generation, analysis, etc.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work as a team within a professional group and build confidence among co-workers.
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
