Our client, located in Dayton, OH is looking for Sr. Software Engineer for a 6 month contract opportunity. This is a Sr. Software Engineer role with a large, global organization within a highly complex data team. The primary responsibilities for this position is to provide technical expertise and knowledge in Java/J2EE, XML, XQuery, XPath, and database development as it relates to this organizations massive content repository. This position requires a working knowledge of the content repository implementations, transformations, document management processes and all associated technologies involved. This contract role is initially 6 months but has the strong potential to become a long term/indefinite consulting role and even offers the chance if the candidate is interested in being hired as a full time employee down the road.
Required Skills:
Must have at least 7+ years experience within software design and development
Ideal candidate would have a Bachelors degree
Strong experience and knowledge of RDBMS including Oracle
Expert level knowledge with Back End/database/data development
Ideal candidate would have experience with as many of the following as possible: XML, XML Schemas, SGML, DTD's, XSLT, XPath, XQuery
Unix
Strong experience with core Java, Web Services, WebSphere or Tomcat, HTML
Solid experience with Scripting including any of the following: Perl, Shell Scripting
Experience working with Rational Clearcase
Must have strong verbal and written communication skills
Experience participating in functional requirements gathering sessions that include non-technical business stakeholders
Desired Skills:
Experience with: MarkLogic
Experience working with outsourced vendor resources
