Our Plano, TX Client is seeking an IT Tools Specialist/BMC ADDM/HP DDMa.

POSITION SUMMARY:

An IT professional with deep experience in managing Enterprise Monitoring tools specifically in Datacenter Discovery tools like BMC ADDM/HP DDMa or similar. Provide leadership for IT migration projects through developing databases and data assimilation analytics that adapt scan data to capture and merge physical attributes, identify candidates for virtualization and map network interdependencies. Team with a dynamic group of individuals that develops and implements technology solutions for data center migrations using network tools for decision making, planning and risk avoidance that establish a platform for a long term enterprise-wide run-manage solution. Strong knowledge of ITIL processes like IT Asset management, Configuration management is essential. Deep experience in modelling applications based on discovery data, multi-layer applications is must.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Under management of Sr. IT Manager Enterprise Monitoring Systems

  • Setup and configuration work with BMC ADDM Discovery tools.
  • Build Application mappings using discovered information.
  • Asset Discovery Integration experience (SQL Connector, Oracle Connector, and CSV).
  • Understand table structures and identify useful fields, primary key.
  • Creation of custom discovery packages and normalization of discovered software.
  • Using the standard Remedy tools construct large scale bi-directional integrations between the Atrium CMDB and third party platforms.
  • Installation and configuration of OOTB ADDM, Remedy Asset Management and Atrium CMDB functionality.
  • Generate quality reports using various tools.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Four-year degree (Bachelors in Computer Science).
  • Minimum of 3 years experience with ITIL oriented (operational or service management) tools- service desk, change, availability, and/or performance monitoring management.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience with BMC ADDM, HP DDMa or similar tools.
  • 6 to 8 years of technical project management experience in IT operations environment.
  • Ability to use discovery tools in datacenter migration projects as well as Steady state Configuration management.
  • Well versed with IT Asset management and Configuration management ITIL processes.
  • Asset Discovery Integration experience (SQL Connector, Oracle Connector, and CSV).
  • Understand table structures and identify useful fields, primary key.
  • Strong Windows/Linux administration background.
  • Creation of custom discovery packages and normalization of discovered software.
  • Understanding of PMI methodologies/ITIL processes with ability to work with multiple large projects in a cross-functional environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Well-developed ability to effectively plan, organize and execute on time and within budgetary constraints.
  • Proven ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Ability to think independently and render quick, accurate decisions.
  • Proven effective customer service techniques and communication.
