Our client is a leading global financial services organisation that has a world recognized name through a highly successful branding campaign. They have offices in over 100 cities worldwide and are a highly respected name to work for. They offer a broad range of products to the financial services sector servicing many varied industries with a host of boutique solutions. Due to ongoing growth in their Sydney office they require a senior/lead Java J2EE Software Developer.
The local development team is of medium size is currently working on a major global strategic business system to build a web 2.0 distributed systems utilizing a combination of Service Orientated Architecture (SOA) and Web Orientated Architecture (WOA). The team works in a highly empowering environment which sees rotated leadership responsibilities amongst the senior developers to help guide self-directed teams. Working in a highly collaborative environment you will liaise closely with other developers, Architect and Business analysts to help scope and track your work against overall project aims.
As a senior developer you will perform hands-on development tasks of feature development, prototyping, code/design reviews, bug fixing and writing unit/automated tests. This is a highly innovative and collaborative environment that will see you contribute in regular workshops to encourage best practice and share development ideas.
Skills required:
- 5 Years+ Experience working with JAVA/J2EE Systems
- Experience with integrated Servers and building distributed systems
- In-depth knowledge of Spring, Hibernate, Ant, Struts and Web Services
- Knowledge of databases and SQL
- Experience/understanding of AGILE development methodology
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Experience with messaging systems - IBM Message Broker (Desirable)
- Excellent technical communication skills to articulate software design concepts
- Desirable experience with Google Web Toolkit(GWT), Apache Camel, Groovy
