OVERVIEW:
Our client is a global scale pharmaceutical corporation with an immediate contract offering with an experienced Software Engineer. If you have systems infrastructure experience on a large scale, contact us right away!


Responsibilities include the following:
  • Validate server builds performed by the build team meet the project teams requirements and confirm with client's Minimum Security Baseline.
  • Research and track down support issues as related to the server platform and provide Root Cause Analysis to the project team.
  • Collaborate with application development team for software install and configuration activity and accommodate personnel in different time zones.
  • Utilize Centrify Direct Control to assist application team with Identity and Access management processes and issues.
  • Provide guidance to application team on security best practices as related to server platforms.
  • Act as customer liaison for all server platform specific technical issues and questions related to infrastructure.
  • Provide and implement tactical engineering processes for existing platform technology solutions and deliver Operating System and 3rd party product updates, testing and document solutions and software deployment utilities as related to the project.
  • Provide engineering support for Compliance, Identify and Access Management, Audit, Security, DMZ, Patch Vulnerability and Disaster Recovery related projects.
  • Implement all installation and configuration changes using the client's internal processes (RFC, Change Control, etc.) utilizing HP Open View Service Center.
  • Effectively communicate project deliverables to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion. Liaise with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis.
  • Proactively manage changes in project scope, determine impact on time, quality, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans.
  • Integrate and transition newly engineered services/solutions into the production environment and provide training, turnover and required documentation.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Progressive experience in IT and/or Platform Engineering experience in a Fortune 500 company, specifically in Windows and VMWare environments
  • 5-10+ years Senior Platform Engineering experience
  • Experience with managing Windows Operating System and VMWare platform/software including VMWare ESX 2.5 to vSphere 4.1
  • Experience with Local Security Policy, Security Templates. Registry Editing, Active Directory authentication; knowledge of QualysGuard helpful
  • Demonstrated capabilities in supporting global applications and providing Real Time solutions to address business critical issues
  • Mandatory experience performing infrastructure environmental reviews and implementation reviews
  • Extensive knowledge of Software Engineering and software life cycle management related to qualification, packaging, release and deployment
  • Ability to effectively communicate system integration solutions to upper management to meet various business requirements
  • Extensive technical writing skills related to engineering, operational documentation, process and qualification of Windows software and hardware solutions, including hardware templates, Standard Operating Procedures, Work Instructions, Forms, etc.
  • Must have extensive experience with large-scale enterprise environments and related hardware/software Windows Server and VMWare platform technologies
  • Ability to communicate relevant technical information about these platforms to audiences ranging from Technical Subject Matter Experts and Business Units to Application teams and Senior Management
  • Strong Operations and Datacenter background
  • Strong understanding of storage solutions (SAN, NAS) as they relate to MSCS Cluster systems
  • Proficiency in the use of the Microsoft Office suite including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint as well as other standard business tools such as Visio, Microsoft Project, Acrobat
  • Ability to understand and use client and web based applications in support of standard processes, ie Service Center, Ariba, HPC, and demonstrated ability to interact comfortably with all levels of management
