Description
Our Richmond, VA client is seeking a Security Engineer to implement security programs/processes for a variety of their public and private sector clients.
Required Technical Skills:
* 4+ years of demonstrated experience in implementing and supporting security programs for medium to large complex organizations, and on systems comprised of a mixture of COTS and custom applications.
* 3-5 years of experience with network and infrastructure hardware and software.
* Experience with information security management frameworks such as ISO, Commonwealth of Virginia SEC501, PCI DSS, CobiT, or NIST to include support of policies, process and procedures within the environment.
* Experience designing and implementing controls within corporate networks to include computer/network security and operating systems such as Windows, Linux, and VMware.
* Thorough knowledge of TCP/IP and internetworking.
* Knowledge of network security devices including Firewalls and IDS/IPS.
* Demonstrated knowledge of information system attack methods and vulnerabilities.
* Experience in the analysis and interpretation of log and/or event management systems.
* Experience developing and validating security requirements and controls related to information system design and implementation.
* Experience identifying, tracking and resolving security issues across a wide range of systems.
Preferred Technical Skills:
* CISSP, GIAC or similar certifications are strongly preferred. Certified Ethical Hacker certification may suffice.
* Contract/Consulting experience and experience with fixed price projects a plus.
Required Soft Skills:
* Good facilitation and project management skills are a must.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to work within and meet target deadlines on multiple concurrent project activities.
* Ability to support project team members during development and testing.
* Excellent communication skills are required, including the ability to communicate technical solutions to non-technical staff.
* Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office required.
* Ability to independently develop and deliver professional-class documentation and presentations is a must.
