Release Manager - Contract

• 6 month contract with likely extentions
• Parramatta Location

Our client is a leading global IT outsourcer. They currently have an immediate requirement for an experienced Release Manager to work onsite with one of their major clients based in Parramatta. The role is initially for a 6 month period but due to the amount of work being scheduled for the new year, there is a strong likelihood that you will be offered an extension.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Maintain a release schedule across all projects and releases including BAU and maintenance activities.
• Determine impact between projects and releases and manage or escalate as required.
• Support project managers in getting deployments running as effectively as possible
• Work with the Deployment managers to arrange necessary deployments into the Test Environments.
• Work with Developers and Application Support to manage application code merge.
• Develop and maintain release management process guidelines

Skills/Experience:

• Previous extensive release management experience in complex environments
• Knowledge of code management processes and approaches and their relevance to planning the release of multiple code elements, including multiple branches of the same code base.
• Comfortable and effective consulting and coordinating release plan activates across many stakeholders
• Enjoy working across a large team and resolve conflicts in a complex environment
• ITIL based Change Management knowledge needed (BMC Remedy experience will be an advantage)
• Gantt chart scheduling experience essential using either MS Project/Primavera/or similar
• Experience in process development and ongoing maintenance of process. In particular the development of Release and Deployment processes.
• A technical/development background would be an advantage
