Salary: Circa £35k dependent upon experience
Job Type: Fixed term contract to May 2013

ROLE:
Cargill is looking for a Multi Skilled Maintenance Technician for their Grain and Oilseed Supply Chain Business Unit in Liverpool. The role will provide a safe, proactive, flexible and comprehensive maintenance and engineering service for oilseed Crush and Refining operations and associated facilities including the main production plants, utility systems, distribution systems and other equipment located across the site.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
a) Maintain a safe and efficient plant and have a sound knowledge of industry safe systems of work.
b) Be able to follow and comply with Permit Systems.
c) Be able to develop, follow and comply with Risk Assessments and job procedures.
d) Understand and follow safety procedures such as scaffold tags, mechanical isolations, electrical lockout, pneumatic, hydraulic isolation, etc.
e) Understand COSHH requirements and chemical risk.
f) Actively participate in site (BBS) Behavioural based safety program.
g) Completes proactive and corrective maintenance tasks in a professional manner.
h) Completes predictive and preventative maintenance schedules.
i) Carry out fault diagnosis and reporting of follow up actions.
j) Record maintenance activities in Maximo CMMS through clear and concise feedback.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
a) Strong experience as a skilled Mechanical Technician with some electrical experience desirable.
b) HNC qualified in mechanical maintenance (or equivalent).
c) A proven level of experience within equipment maintenance.
d) Proven competence with: Safe systems of work, risk assessment, Valves, Pumps and pump seals, Conveyor and Elevator maintenance, Steam and compressed air systems, Gearboxes, Drive Transmission Systems (pulleys, belts, chain drives), Pneumatics and hydraulics, filtration Systems, Rotary Locks, Centrifuges, Rigging and Slinging and Pipeline maintenance.

You may have experience of the following: Maintenance Technician, Electrical/Electronics/Mechanical Engineer, equipment maintenance, Mechanical Technician, Planned/Preventive Maintenance, Facilities Engineer, HNC, HND, Engineering, Valves, Pumps and pump seals, Conveyor and Elevator maintenance, Steam and compressed air systems, Gearboxes, Drive Transmission Systems (pulleys, belts, chain drives), Pneumatics and hydraulics, filtration Systems, Rotary Locks, Centrifuges, Rigging and Slinging and Pipeline maintenance, Laser alignment.
