Swift is a leading specialist supplier of manpower resources to the global Oil & Gas industry. With over 25 years focusing exclusively in this sector and 20 offices worldwide, Swift provides a world-class service to the industry leaders.

Our client, a global Operator in the oil and gas industry, is looking to expand their team and are looking for an experienced Project Engineer. The main duty of the Project Engineer will be to coordinate the execution of engineering and construction activities within the project team.

In addition, the Project Engineer will be required to facilitate communication between the company and contractor during the development, engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning phases.

Key responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • Coordinate the engineering and construction elements of the project to ensure that the Company's technical performance and integrity requirements are met
  • Ensure the delivery of all engineering and construction requirements within their realm of responsibility (including commercial)
  • Coordinate the delivery of low complexity, approved capital projects to the sanctioned cost, schedule and performance criteria
  • Contribute to the project strategy, project execution plan, contract strategy and management systems for project delivery and ensure they get ownership from within the asset, partners and the project team
  • Ensure readiness for commissioning and handover is planned and agreed with the operations function

Required skills, experience and attributes will include but not limited to:

  • Educated in an engineering discipline
  • Chartered member of a relevant engineering institution or equivalent preferred
  • An understanding of discipline interfaces, construction activities and the project development and delivery process needed to enable quality control of contractor technical work, and ensure appropriate techniques
    and standards are applied and improvement opportunities are realised
  • Able to apply HSSE principles across all project technical activities
  • Good team player with a pro-active and flexible attitude
  • Good communicator able to challenge others in a constructive manner and negotiate successfully to achieve positive outcomes
