Our client is one of Australia's leading and largest Financial Services Organisation that has expanded its operations beyond the Australian shores. The organization has a large range of financial offerings to both public and private clients across the retail, corporate and institutional banking areas. They have a very large technical footprint that combine a dynamic range of technologies in an ultimate complex landscape.
The Performance and Capacity team have a very large remit, to evaluate and improve the bank wide systems with a focus on high availability and stability. This team has been organically grown over the last 18months and now due to their excellent success record of improvements they have been given a wide remit and larger projects.
This has led to the creation of additional roles in this expanding team. The role is to focus on the organization spanning reporting systems based on SQL technologies for Analysis Services, Reporting Services and Integration Services. The role is to help provide rich data to multiple internal and external teams, this is a highly complex environment that contributes directly to centralized capacity management information systems. Thus you are required to scope innovative robust solutions to provide increases in the key areas of Capacity, High Availability and Performance. The team works closely with a variety of technical teams and business units, so strong communication skills of technical and non-technical situation are essential.
Responsibilities include:
- Evaluate bank wide reporting systems touching on multiple technologies
- Scope solution design and ensure fit for purpose on the metrics of traceability/availability.
- Perform complex technical capacity planning that evaluates for project changes, demand fluctuations and growth.
- Identify non-functional risks commensurate with design and manage to closure.
- Provide technical requirements documents/guidelines for operational monitoring.
Skills required:
- Extensive Data Engineering experience with Databases - SQL and/or Oracle
- Intimate knowledge of the SQL Analysis Services 2008 (SSAS)
- Intimate knowledge of the SQL Reporting Services 2008 (SSRS)
- Intimate knowledge of the SQL Integration Services 2008 (SSIS)
- Strong SQL Scripting and data importing/exporting
- Strong Holistic Technical Background spanning a multiple disciplines
- Strong analytical and communication skills.
- Experience working with Solution designers/Architects.
