Are you a passionate gamer with a deep understanding of social media, online communities and forums? Our client is a major games studio looking for a web-savvy German Language Community Forum Moderator for an online PC Real Time Strategy game. As a community moderator, you will work closely with the Community Manager to monitor forums and interact with other players using the forums to communicate. You will provide customer support on issues related to the game and website, handling incident management with accurate and timely reporting of issues, testing new site features and resolving support issues.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Follow established procedures for forum moderation on a daily basis.
  • Document 100% of moderation activity in the community.
  • Respond or escalate all reported abuses within four working hours.
  • Participate in the community as an active player of our game.
  • Resolve issues that arise within the community by working with owners across the game organization

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Fluency in German required
  • Must be a self-starter and independent contributor with follow-through on all initiatives
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Experience moderating online communities and forums, either in a paid or volunteer capacity
  • Experience in a world-class service organization
  • Experience playing Real Time Strategy (RTS) games
  • Experience playing MMO games
  • Experience interacting with web users from a broad demographic background

DESIRED SKILLS AND PLUSES:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • Passion and understanding for gaming communities
  • Thorough understanding of Internet memes and protocol
