Large public sector client requires a Communications and Engagement (C&E) Manager (Planning) - this is a comms planning role (not transport planning), the ideal candidate will have good internal comms as well as some external stakeholder experience too, but planning experience is key.

Job Purpose
The C&E Manager is responsible for the management of communications and engagement activity for all delivery workstreams for the London Games. The Games C&E Manager will be Embedded in the Games delivery workstreams and will develop the forward plans for Communications and Engagement (C&E) activity including identifying resource needs, compliance issues and capability development needs for the delivery workstreams.

Principal Accountabilities
Responsible for working within all Games delivery workstreams to develop and deliver materials to support an effective plan for communications and engagement activity.
Responsible for understanding and ensuring delivery workstream requirements for C&E are appropriately planned, delivered for an allocated Games delivery workstream/s
Responsible for working within a nominated Games delivery workstream to identify capability development needs and addressing these.
Co-ordinate work with other communication specialists including Surface Marketing, Group Marketing, Group New Media and Group Internal Communications
Responsible for assessing an allocated Games delivery workstream/s compliance with Communication and Engagement practices and planning for improvement. Decision Making
Responsible for ensuring that the ST Games delivery workstream C&E are planned and delivered according to programme schedules for an allocated Games delivery workstream with guidance from the Lead Games C&E Manager (planning) and the appropriate Games delivery workstream Head of. Responsible for highlighting stakeholder issues that would result from Games delivery workstream activity and escalating this as appropriate.
Responsible for advising on C&E compliance and capability development needs within an allocated Games delivery workstream/s and putting plans in place to address these in agreement with the Games delivery workstream Director.

Jobholders Command No direct reports at present. The integration and control of the virtual team is achieved by project work meetings and regular 1:1 meetings to review work. In addition regular team meetings are held to co-ordinate across the team.

Skills Required
Knowledge, Skill & experience
Experience of Communications and Engagement planning and delivery is essential.
Experience of working in a customer focused service delivery organisation in the transport sector desirable.
Experience of working with Project Managers, Engineers, Transport Planners and other technical specialists to interpret technical/engineering schemes and identify communications and engagement requirements.
Experience of working with others to define requirements.
