Actuarial Student - Solvency II

We are looking for an Actuarial Student who will support the production work stream, responsible for calculating, analysing and commentary on base liabilities and capital for all businesses, in line with internal and Solvency II and ICA Financial Reporting requirements. Please find below a list of Principle day to day duties and a summary of skills and desirables. Student Actuary Principle accountables.

  • Perform the calculation and analysis on base liabilities and capital for all businesses in line with internal, Solvency II and ICA Financial Reporting requirements.
  • Perform analysis of change of results between reporting periods; reconciliation between Solvency II and ICA results.
  • Analyse the reported results, inputting into business planning processes and project work (eg capital optimisation).
  • Support other ad-hoc activities as required
  • Skills and Desirables for student Actuary:

    • Ability to act independently.
    • Strong verbal and written communication, influencing, organisational skills and able to interact with Executives and Senior Management
    • Ability to manage key relationships across teams, locations and business areas.
    • Delivery focus with proven ability to manage to deadlines.
    • Desire for development and change and presents a positive and professional image.
    • Considerable knowledge of life assurance business.
    • Ability to work under pressure
    • Analytical problem solving skills
    • Detailed knowledge and experience of Solvency II and/or ICA reporting.
