Experience:

A proven knowledge and recent experience within the following areas is essential:

  • Knowledge of OS/APP/DB life cycle management and automation in a large enterprise/service provider environment
  • Experience of identifying opportunities for cost effective automation which drives operational efficiencies and standardisation both at enterprise and service provider level
  • Knowledge of platform architecture and associated implementation including deployment methodology for all elements of the environment including connectivity, security, compute and storage
  • Knowledge of detailed infrastructure for deploying platform architecture spanning from processor/OS requirements through to Back End SAN/NAS storage and bandwidth requirements
  • Experience of automation and orchestration tools across Iaas/PaaS/SaaS environments both virtual and physical
  • Experience of automating full life cycle to support all stages of OS, Networking, Security, Storage and Application life cycle in multi-tiered environments: Provisioning (Bare Metal/Virtual), Conditioning, Patching, Remediation, Auditing, Compliance, Reporting, Upgrading, EOL, decommissioning
  • Experience of OS/App level clustering
  • Experience of interfacing with vendor patch repository incorporating automated staging and testing environment for priority, security related and critical updates
  • Experience of utilising tools/capabilities to meet regulatory reporting requirements both Pan-European/Global
  • Knowledge of both commercial and Opensource tools and workflow applications include their integration
  • Experience of developing and managing multiple library capabilities (both Shared and Private) including access control, license management (SPLA/ELA) and cloning/replication for gold images, standard builds supporting single and mass deployment across multiple locations
  • Knowledge of discovery tools and platform CMDB integration and automatic population of CI elements

Desirable knowledge and experience:

  • Experience of (Shell/Perl/Ruby) Scripting
  • Experience of integrating tools and platforms with monitoring/portal capabilities to enable single pane of glass reporting
